Jed's Jeep - interior painting...

...nearly finished. I have still to create a 'lived-in' look and a few details need painting. The items in the rear can hardly be seen with the roof on so just a few bits to suggest stowage and the lower part of the turret...

oh, and two more G.O.T. troopers nearly finished.

Jed's Jeep - a little detail work...

...before adding paint! This is a great little model that just cries out for a really good modeller to 'go to town' on detailing - unfortunately I'm not that great - ok, but not great. So I've just added a little detail here and there. As I wanted the driver's door opened I've added a little detail to both doors

the opening isn't very wide and the angles of the door are a little obstructive if mounting a figure as I intend to do so I've drilled and pinned the door at the hinges to allow for the door opening a little wider
I've also added stowage and a 'mocked-up' base to the weapon mount in the cargo area although it won't be very visible when the model is complete. I've also added 'ablative padding (see the doors) to the upper walls of the rear cabin and some 'gubbins'. I realised, after a little while, that Jed has incuded the mount and housing for the safety belts so added a little belt and clip from spare etched brass belts.
if the door seems to be an odd angle it's because it's not fixed in position yet. And yes, one of the rear mudguards is missing. Heavy handedness by yours truely but has been returned to position(after the photos were taken). The steering wheel and gear lever will be installed after cleaning. Priming and base colours tomorrow, hopefully, for both the Jeep and Monwheel.

Pig Iron Blog...

...see link opposite. some of my favourite minis and, most definitely, nice people (hello Si, Lisa!) to deal with. Nice blog (not before time!)
just a little reminder of what they (and me - a few head swaps!) do...

G.O.T monowheel...

...military version.

I've done a little work on this - fitted the 'crew' onto greenstuff seats (I removed the driver's seat with the trusty dremel amd appropriate accessory and replaced it) to make them sit/fit a little better...

Jed's Jeep......with other minis

As with the Warthog the Jeep is ideally suited for using with other minis, eg...

Jed's Jeep ...

...Jed of Antenociti's Workshop that is! I mentioned this in a previous post and now it's here! Jed liked my Warthog enough to use it on his website and offer me the opportunity to paint some new releases (I get to keep them) in return for photos of the finished article. I've already started converting a female trooper to look as if she's climbing in (or out of) the driver's side. I'm not sure if, when officially released, whether steering wheel and other controls will be included but they weren't in the one I received (along with some other little beauties). I'm using the steering wheel, gear and brake levers from a 1/48 Tamiya Humvee which fit excellently -incidentally the vehicle and troopers look as if they scale out at 1/48 opening a realm of possibilities for equipment, stowage and conversions (drivers for instance).
The kit can be built into one of three options - all included in the kit - shown below
First is the support vehicle - the subject of this particular WIP...

the hardtop (here with a partly painted female G.O.T  trooper and a Tamiya mechanic)...

and without top...

although the photo doesn't show the driver/passenger area clearly there are very nicely detailed seats and dash included.
Jed has started his own WIP on Frothers with lots of very clear photos of placement of parts and options so i'll concentrate on painting. The only difference in the builds so far is that I've reinforced the placement of the front wheels by pinning and added the 'Bull-Bars' (?)...

...the 'pin' is pulling the two axles together and holding them in place tightly against the the locating point.
One more photo with the two troopers I'm painting at the moment...

More soon...(G.O.T. to catch up with commission work!)

with the Warthog...

...finally! I've said before that the Warthog fits nicely with an assortment of sci-fi troopers of various sizes but this is a figure from the same range - Antenociti's Workshop G.O.T. Not a great photo, sorry!

I''ll have a pre-release of this little beauty to paint - WIP should start end of next week!

more Warthog pics....

...to reinforce my claim some posts back that Antenociti's vehicle will work with any sci-fi troopers and to say watch this space...!
